American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is an independent humanitarian organization whose purpose is to aid victims of natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, fires, tornados) and human-caused catastrophes. The aid is free. The Red Cross is maintained by private contributions.

The website contains information about the work it does after natural disasters, about the need for blood, instructions on how to prepare for and behave during different kinds of catastrophes, information for Junior Red Cross volunteers and members, information for soldiers and their families (in emergencies it provides immediate contact between active-duty soldiers and their families) and details about nursing services and aid. The American Red Cross runs courses on safe and healthy living. The website has sections for news and for questions and answers.
