European Council on Refugees and Exiles
The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) is a network of European nongovernmental organizations acting on behalf of refugees. Its purpose is to defend and integrate refugees in Europe, based on the values of human decency, human rights and solidarity.

ECRE fulfills its mission by promoting and monitoring asylum-granting policies, supporting cooperation between organizations, and enhancing their institutional capabilities for work on behalf of refugees.

ECRE functions through its member organizations and its Brussels office. It arranges workshops and seminars for representatives of its organizations to upgrade their qualifications for work on behalf of refugees and asylum seekers. ECRE runs a forum for active, professional human rights and refugee rights workers (ELENA – European Legal Network on Asylum), and projects supporting the development of nongovernmental organizations in Central and Eastern Europe.

The website has reports and publications on EU asylum policy, a list of member organizations, links to other organizations and information sources.
