The European Federation for Intercultural Learning
EFIL was founded in Brussels in 1971 by volunteer organizations for the purpose of coordinating joint projects for intercultural education. EFIL is modeled after American Field Services (AFS), and links more than 50 nongovernmental organizations that promote intercultural education, the main aim of which is to deepen knowledge of other cultures as a means of achieving mutual understanding and advancing world peace. EFIL members’ principal activities are lobbying for initiatives to support intercultural education, organizing seminars, training and workshops, and improving practical skills in international cultural education for young people, teachers and trainers.

The website features links and references to specific programs and member organizations.
