Redress is a human rights organization that supports torture survivors in their efforts to receive compensation. The organization emphasizes restitution, compensation, rehabilitation, reparations, and guarantees of non-repetition as its central goals. Redress has several national and international programs. Redress employees review cases by which they hope to convict torturers while obtaining reparations for the victims. The organization proposes legal reforms to national and international institutions, and supports the efforts of local judges and lawyers. Redress works to increase global awareness regarding the use of torture and preventive strategies.
