WRERU specializes in ethnographic studies of religious communities and movements, and applies the findings to teaching and learning in religious education and related fields. It also produces research publications and a series of teacher and pupil books for use in schools. WRERU offers teacher courses, postgraduate training, and master’s-level postgraduate certificates in religious education and related fields. It also offers the Farmington Teacher Fellowship, research degrees, and distance-learning options. The approach is multireligious and is aimed at religious education teachers and nonteachers who have a particular professional or personal interest in religious education.
